What was once known as “perversions” and are today known as “paraphilias” belong to this category. These are sexual dispositions which, for example, focus on nonhuman objects (fetishes), on pain or humiliation from themselves or their partner (masochism/sadism) or on children (pedophilia) or on other non-consensual people or people unable to consent.
