Sexual Development DysfunctionsThis indication area deals with dysfunctions based in the somatosexual, psychosexual and sociosexual development which occur throughout a lifetime and inhibit those affected in their possibilities for sexual interaction up to the impossibility of experiencing sexual contact. These dysfunctions often lead those affected often secondarily to the development of other psychiatric and developmental dysfunctions, which are often then introduced as the presenting indication instead of the causal problematic. Presumably, most sexual developmental dysfunctions remain unaccounted for and are treated solely as the (secondary) symptomatic level, often because those affected often cannot name it themselves and recognize that their problems lie solely or in the range of their sexual development. This is even more so when the problematic is based on a complete developmental delay (retardation) (i.e. physical or mental developmental dysfunctions). The need for experiencing sexual and partnership contact is not changed because of the retardation. |
